Old photographs often matter because of who is in them, not because they are technically perfect. The aim is not to turn the moment into a spectacle. It is to introduce just enough natural movement to make the people feel present.

A blink, a softened expression or a slight glance can be more convincing than a dramatic action. We assess the photograph and shape the movement around what it can support.

Faces with visible detail

Eyes, facial features and head shape should be reasonably clear, even if the photograph is old or faded.

Individual portraits, couples, parents, grandparents and family groups can all be considered.

Damaged photographs

Minor marks may be fine. If damage affects the animation, we can discuss restoring the still photograph first.

    After payment, we add the agreed movement and check that the result suits the character of the photograph.

    You review it privately

    View the result on your private order page, request a fair correction if needed and download the approved MP4 file.

Can you animate a very old photograph?

Often, yes. Clear faces and visible features give the best results, but age alone does not make a photograph unsuitable. We inspect every picture before payment and explain honestly what is likely to work.

Will the movement look natural?

We normally recommend restrained movement for old family photographs: a blink, a slight smile, a small turn of the head or gentle movement between people. You can describe the feeling you want when you upload the picture.

Does the photograph need restoring first?

Not always. Light marks or fading may not prevent animation. If damage or poor clarity is likely to affect the result, we can recommend restoration first and show the separate price before payment.

How much does it cost?

One animation costs £12. Lower per-picture prices apply to collections of five, ten or twenty photographs, and the best applicable package is calculated automatically.

Do I pay before you check the photograph?

No. Sending the photograph is free. We inspect the image and your requested movement, then invite payment only if the work can be accepted.

How will I receive the animation?

You receive a 5–8 second MP4 file through your private order page. You can download it to keep and share, or add a checked digital display frame preloaded with your finished animations.

Will you publish my family photograph?

No. Your uploaded and finished files remain private and are not used as public examples or advertising unless you give separate permission.
